Instructions
Discuss mannequins, i.e. what kind of a pose a mannequin might make, how a mannequin would dance, the purpose of a mannequin.
Review your rules for personal space in the classroom.
Invite students to practice wiggling like a bowl of Jello in a refrigerator. When you open the refrigerator door, the Jello stops moving. Practice again, but this time say "Freeze!" Students make a mannequin pose, like one seen in a clothing store or in the video.
Teach and demonstrate the following movements to a steady beat:
Walk
Run
Stomp
Hop
Boogie
Twist
Play recording as students perform the movements.
Optional: Divide class into six small groups. Each group is assigned a movement and moves to the center of the room when that movement is sung and performed. After they freeze, the next group moves into place to show their movement. Rotate movements so everyone has a turn with each.
